Believe it or not, hospitality can be a difference maker for your school ministry. Whether it is a long-time school family or a prospective family, God provides us with opportunities to demonstrate His love through our hospitality. As Romans 12:13 encourages us to “practice hospitality”, it behooves our schools to develop soft-skills that create a welcoming school atmosphere. So what is your school’s Hospitality Quotient (HQ)? In this sectional, we will examine six key hospitality traits for a school ministry setting.
Shawn Herkstroeter currently serves as principal at Faith Lutheran School in Fond du Lac, WI. He is a 1996 graduate of MLC and earned a M.Ed. from UW-Stout in 2004. His 25 years of ministry experience includes teaching, coaching, athletic director, and principal. In addition to his current call, Shawn also serves as a leadership coach for Grace in Action.
