Our keynote speaker, Doug Lemov, is the author of the international bestseller Teach Like a Champion—now in its 3.0 version and The Coach’s Guide to Teaching. He is the co-author, with TLAC colleagues, of Practice Perfect, Reading Reconsidered, Teaching in the Online Classroom, and Reconnect.
Prof. Thompson (M.Div theology, M.A. philosophy) taught philosophy courses at Wisconsin Lutheran College and Bethany Lutheran College before becoming a pastor in WELS. He served eight years in Ottawa, ON, Canada, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran. His most recent divine call is to Martin Luther College, where he teaches theology, history, and philosophy. He is the author of Your Life Has Meaning (NPH) and co-author of Quick to Listen (NPH).
WELS Commission on Lutheran Schools guides and assists congregations in advancing the gospel of Jesus by providing resources, training, and personal assistance for starting and strengthening WELS schools.
