Building a Strong School Culture
Learning Outcomes: I can evaluate ministry team cohesion and plan for work that supports the mission in coordination with other workers.
Every school has an organizational culture that is shaping the way your staff and students live out your school’s mission and vision on a daily basis. It is too critical of a topic to ignore. Teachers and administrators either deliberately or accidentally create the culture of their classrooms and schools and your constituents (customers) feel it, see it and live according to it, for better or worse. In this session, we will discuss and deliver a playbook for both teachers and administrators to design the school culture that you want for your families. Topics include: Elements of culture-building through rites of passage, story-telling, symbols, stakes in the ground, and more!
Kevin Festerling is the fourth of six children born to Roger and Mimi Festerling, where he received the greatest privilege of his lifetime–a childhood centered around a loving family who believed and modeled how to follow Christ with a life of service to others. Festerling founded Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School in 2017 with a promise from the Lord (Matt 6:33), a bold and courageous staff, and a radically committed wife, Lisa, and children Morgan, 17, and Sawyer, 15. Kingdom Prep Lutheran is an all boys high school, serving 200 students from Milwaukee — 100% Choice families. Kingdom Prep’s mission/vision is to build a brotherhood in Christ for lives of purpose, where young men develop their God-given gifts to lead in the home, serve in the Church, engage in meaningful work and transform community. Kevin loves doing DIY projects, hanging out with family and watching his former students eventually take his job at Kingdom Prep.
