What can we learn from and about children in order to help them learn more and more about Jesus? In this session, we will explore best practices including how to model, engage and create relevant learning experiences that plant and nurture seeds of faith in the awesome calling we have to disciple his lambs for this life and eternity.
After graduating from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1993, Kristy Wegner has taught every grade from Pre-K through 8th grade as well as undergrad and nontraditional students at the college level. In addition to teaching in the classroom she has held a variety of leadership roles including director, general administrator and founding principal. Wegner has been blessed to teach in a variety of contexts including WELS schools and other Christian schools in the States as well as in a British International primary school and International preschool while serving in Malawi, Africa. Her passion for growing in her own profession as well as supporting others led her to obtain her master’s degree at Wisconsin Lutheran College, a coaching and mentoring certificate at Cardinal Stritch University, and certification for supervising student teachers from Martin Luther College. She is currently a professor in the School of Education at Wisconsin Lutheran College and is an active member at St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where she joyfully serves and worships her Savior out of thanks for the grace he has shown her. Kristy enjoys brewing kombucha, hiking and spending time with her mother, husband, adult children and grandson.
