Creating Unforgettable Lessons in Your Classroom

Passionate teachers produce passionate learners. Through a variety of resources, research, and first hand experience, learn how to bring your lessons to life in the classroom. Session participants will explore academic research on active student engagement focused on what it looks like, how to achieve it, and why it is important to the process of learning. Each and every one of us has the God-given ability to produce powerful and memorable lessons. This session is meant to inspire you to actively plan and make this happen in your own classroom!

Andy Van Weele has served as principal and teacher for nearly 20 years at Life Lutheran School in Friendswood, Texas. Throughout those years, Andy has taught a variety of grade levels from 2nd-8th grade, as well as worked with high school students in the community as a basketball coach. Andy has been blessed to serve on the MLC Governing Board, the Texas Board of Private School Law, and conference chair for the South Central District. He has twice received the regional Barnes and Noble Teacher of the Year and continue to serve the students of Life Lutheran both in and outside of the classroom.
